Poems and Such

Add caption

I decided to choose a Bio-Cube and a Poem generator. The cube would help you in an English class or History class where you had to do a report on a famous person. The poems would work if you need to show people how two things are related. I did my poems on School and Work and my cube on myself. You could do it on basically ANYTHING.

Isn't she looooovely.

http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2011/05/16/country-stars-miranda-lambert-blake-shelton-wed/

So the title is a song lyric to the song "Isn't she lovely" which I classify as a country song, which fits this article. Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert got married!!! They got married in Texas, which is where Miranda is from. The couple had been together since 2006. This is considered news to all the country fans that like the songs that love has produced, such as Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's music. They have a lot of duets that are nice.

Physics Article

http://www.sbstatesman.com/students-may-rise-before-the-sun-for-physics786

This article deals with the Physics students having to be at class at 6:50 am. This is before sunrise. This brings me to another interesting fact about light. We see the sunrise before the sun actually comes up. We also see the sun setting AFTER the sun has already gone down. Interesting, right?

Knols

http://knol.google.com/k/how-to-hit-a-golf-ball#

This article basically tells you how to hit a golf ball. It talks about the key elements of golf such as your grip, the position of the golf ball, the position of your body, the position of your arm and the club face, how you take your back and down swing, how you distribute your weight and how to follow through. This would be very useful if you were a golfer, or had the intent of becoming a golfer. I think Snyder should use this ;).

http://knol.google.com/k/periodic-table-of-the-elements-all-about-it#

This next Knol gives you a lot of information on the Periodic Table. It tells about the groups and even some useful(or useless) information about each element in the group. This would be useful for anyone interested in acing the Periodic Table test that Mrs. Swonger gives you because reading it on the Internet always gives you a better chance of remembering because you can be listening to music as you do it. I suggest that Clarissa and the other non-seniors/juniors use this site :D.

Yo, Government, Give Me Some Money!

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/04/21/states-fared-unemployment-aid-glance/

This article talks about how the National Unemployment Benefits applications went down, but in many states, it increased. For example, in California, there were up 26 thousand applications which was due to the backlog of previous applications. This shows that more people are becoming unemployed in some states, but  overall the unemployment is slowly coming to an end. This doesn't mean that there are less people on unemployment, it just means that in this four week period, there were 26 thousand applications  for unemployment. That doesn't include the billions of people on unemployment currently.

Abortion

My toondoo book about a controversial topic is abortion. It is called "Abortion is wrong!" and can be found using that title or under my username of CJP242011 :). Enjoy!!

Should it stay or should it go now

http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/04/19/6495853-the-donald-trumped-on-abortion-question

So there's this thing called abortion. Abortion is...disposing of a fetus prior to giving birth in the goal of preventing a child from being born. In my terms abortion is murdering a child. This article talks about how, in an interview, Donald Trump was "stumped" with the abortion question, however the place of which I obtained this information is so far liberal, they put their own spin on things. A simple question was asked of Donald about privacy. Donald said yes there is privacy in the Constitution. Then the interviewer tied in abortion with privacy. Let me put my opinion in here on this topic. Privacy is what you do inside your home and personal life. I don't have a doubt in my mind that people are entitled to some privacies such as who they want to have sexual intercourse with or who they talk on the phone with or what they talk about or even what they research on the internet so long as it doesn't 'present a clear and present danger'. Abortion presents a clear and present danger. What if our Founding Fathers were aborted? We would not be a free country right now. What if your parents were aborted? You wouldn't be reading this. What if Mary had an abortion? Jesus Christ would not have been born (if you believe in such knowledge). The Declaration of Independence states that All Men Are Created Equal. If I'm created equally as the baby produced by two students at Cardington-Lincoln High School of which to be anonymous, then why did I get to live, while that baby was murdered? The Declaration also states that we have certain unalienable rights such as life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. What is Life? Life is what we veiw around us. Life is that of living things, such as a fetus. How are the fetuses given that right? What is the pursuit of happiness? Pursuit of happiness means being able to go out in the world and find something that makes you feel good. I doubt that people feel good when they die. What is Liberty? Liberty is freedom from control. That fetus is being controlled by the mother, how is that liberty? Now you may be able to place these concepts for the mother. Let me show you why that is wrong. Jeffery Domer was made 'happy' by killing and eating people. That violates laws, so you cannot do that. Murder is against the law, therefore abortion should be too. I'm out of time and my forearms are hurting from typing, but as you can tell, I'm anti-abortion, or in better terms, Pro-Life.

Book of Tym

I read this 'book' about the life of Tym. I thought it was clever and kind of made me chuckle. The first page has a 3 panel page. In the first panel, "Tym" says his name and that he is the last person alive. The next panel has a bunch of stick figures running past him in the distant and that is it. The 3rd panel says "Hi I'm Tym and I have a lying problem. The next page has 3 panels as well. The one panel has Tym running from a pirate with a book in his hand and a girl in the front reading a book. The next panel has Tym running from a robber with a book in his hand and the girl in the front reading a book, looking agitated. The last panel is Tym running from a creature and the girl yelling out "You know they are just books, right?" and with a thought bubble saying "He takes things so seriously". At first I didn't understand the library scene until I read the end, then I noticed the details. It was clever, and my sense of humor found it hilarious.

New President, For a Better Looking Tomorrow.

So my book is titled "A Better Tomorrow" and my username is cjp242011 in case you can't find it :)
It's pretty dandy I must admit :).

Technology at it's finest!

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/as_japan_earthquake

My title may be a bit deceiving. The nuclear power plant in Japan that has been leaking radiation has been classified as the highest level that it can be. It is now a 7, where it was just a 5 earlier this week. We need to devise a new technological machine to be able to clean up the radiation leak, instead of sawdust and newspaper shreddings. That's all this week about the technology that we have currently, and need to re-up.

Schools got What???

http://www.cleveland.com/open/index.ssf/2011/03/schools_local_governments_take.html

The new budget that Kasich has proposed would give the Schools an 11.5% cut. This would force schools into proposing new tax levies, which would cause a lot of people in the community to become upset with the district since no one WANTS to pay more taxes, unless you're a teacher. This may seem like a severe cut, which it is, but people depend upon the government too much. Schools should be able to find a way to cover their costs or cut costs on a lot of the expenses. For example, a school like Cardington that has very few students, does not need a 1:2(exaggeration) teacher to student ratio. There are too many classes that are core classes that have roughly 10 students in it. If we combine students that are taking the same courses, we could reduce staff, reducing expenses. This would mean a lot of jobless teachers, I understand. That's why if we take more money away from Cardington, and give it to a big school like Gahana, we could have a 25:1(estimate) instead of 100:1(exaggeration again). That's just my view on the proposed budge in which schools would lose more money, but that money, in my opinion, will be sent to new programs that will benefit even more than having overstaffed schools.

Radioactive what?!?!?! Current Event

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2011/03/25/dangerous-breach-suspected-japan-nuclear-plant/

So there were these two workers that were walking in radioactive water, and suffered from injuries. What this means is the Nuclear Plant in Japan that was damaged during the Tsunami everyone has heard about is releasing radiation. This will affect everyone in the world because it's in open air and will travel. This shows that it is now in the water supply, so who knows what is safe to drink and what is not. Just Kidding about that.

Websites that are VERY useful :)

http://www.sparknotes.com/

This website works as a great way to 'review' the books you have read for English class. It also helps you with studying for the ACT. The ACT is an important test because most colleges will look at it and determine if you are fit for their college.

Bill Nye the Science Guy is an amazing role model. He is such a genius and really knows how to put life into words that no one can understand. If you want to thank someone, you can send an E-Card. Bill Nye can also explain the world to you. Try it sometime :).

The only USA Current Event I Could Find.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/03/17/proposed-federal-law-brakes-state-age-limits-teen-drivers/

It took me forever to find an event unrelated to the Japan incident, but this talks about how the driving license age will be upped to 18. This means all you kiddies that are under the age of 18 but are older than 16 are out of luck. I can't wait because you young drivers (everyone preceding as well) are terrible.

Check it, Current Event

http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/03/10/tons-dead-fish-pulled-california-marina/?test=latestnews

This article talks about the dead fish that just appeared in the California King Harbor. There are roughly 1 million dead sardines in the Harbor. Marine Experts believe that the cause of death was fleeing a predator or some other reason, and gathering in a small place of the harbor where they used up all the oxygen in the water and died. Nobody is certain as to what happened, but they are certain they need to clean it up before they rot. It is expected to cost about $100,000 to clean up the fish.

Weekly Event

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/03/02/ohio-senate-passes-restrict-public-unions/

My Weekly event is about yet again the Senate Bill 5. The Ohio Senate passed the bill that is restricting public unions. My opinion on Senate Bill  5 is that we no longer actually need the unions. Back when labor was bad, and they had no laws governing the labor, we DID need them. However, in today's world, there are many laws that set up what you can and cannot do in the work force. So now, we need to start eliminating these unions that have better benefits than that of a non-union member. What does this mean? Well it's simple. Government employees don't have to pay for as much health, dental, eye care, etc. as others. Who pays for it then, you may ask. Simple. You do. Your parents do. Widows do. Anyone who pays taxes, pay for benefits. Therefore, I strongly stand behind that of our Ohio Senate in passing this bill. The bill will go to the House and if passed there, it will go to the Governor, who already said he would sign it. There you have it, Cameron's political update.

Current Event

http://www.10tv.com/live/content/local/stories/2011/02/17/story-columbus-workers-protest-senate-bill-5.html?sid=102

Many of you may not be interested in politics, SAMMY, but I for one am very interested in politics. As future President of the United States of America, I need to be. Anyway, there is a new bill, Senate Bill 5, which is being considered. If the bill were to pass, that would be the end of collective bargaining for unions. What this means is basically unions will be extinct. This is bad for the public unions, but it's a step in destroying the private unions that don't do anything and get paid a lot. This affects us because Teachers are part of the Teacher Union, and this would destroy the Teacher Union. I for one am all for this bill to be passed because the private unions are bad for Ohio. My dad works as the Chief Financial Officer at Ohio State and deals with unions with his maintenance people. This would help his job be easier, taking stress out of his life, which makes him happier, therefore making me happy. I feel bad for the public unions that we need, but everyone has to make sacrifices in the world.

Technology Junk :))

http://www.voanews.com/english/news/usa/Obama-Heads-to-California-to-Meet-Technology-Leaders-------116406729.html

This article was talking about how Obama was going to California for a Technology Meeting. Basically the leaders and Obama will talk about how the government and technology can come together to help strengthen the world. In other words, Obama wants to find more ways to steal our rights as Citizens.  We, as American citizens, need to find a way to make sure Obama does NOT STEAL MY RIGHTS! Ok that is all :)

Sydney Z is by far THE coolest person in this world. Her sister, Hannah Z, is a close second, but Sydney never has her mean days. Hannah tends to be a jerk some days :/. Sydney is soooo cool that she even sits in this class even though she doesn't have to JUST to talk to me :). Everyone that doesn't know Sydney, needs to get to know her.
